For those of you who may not have heard yet, Dale's father passed away on Sept. 15th from congestive heart failure. I had flown back to Ontario to be with Brandon & Karen on the birth of their 2nd boy, Nathan William, who was born July 22. While there Dale's dad fell, then fell again. After calling Dale, I extended my stay, and his sister and I worked at getting him into a retirement center. I came home to start school, then Dale went in August/Sept. and spent 3 weeks with his dad. He came home on Thurs night and his Dad passed away the next Monday while Dale was enroute back to Ontario. Brandon was with him when he died peacefully. His mind was clear to the end; his heart and kidneys just gave out. Not long before he died he called Brandon over and said he wanted to leave a statement with his family and congregation. He said, "I'm a sinner saved by grace. I've been a sinner all my life. I've been faithful to my family and the church. I don't deserve it. I'm just a sinner saved by grace. If you would like to listen to Dale's sermon he preached last week about going home to heaven, it is on our church website. It's called "Going to Heaven with a Wink and a Wave." There is a link on the upper right called Sermons. www.skylinefamily.com

Thanks, Isabel for the updates. We are thankful for all the good progress for Rusty and Sarah. Eleyna is a very pretty name! Please tell them hello for us. We always look for articles by or about them in the missionary magazine. Love to all, Berdena

I thought I would let you all know that Rusty has recupperated from his round of hospital stays this summer. By God's mercy he is still alive. He had a major heart artery 99% blocked. They put in a double stent and he is doing much better.
Lorna and I went to Honduras in July and the first part of August to help care for Sarah. She was in preterm labor. God intervened and spared Eleyna from too early a birth. Lorna and I returned August the 5th and Eleyna Ruth was born Sunday, August 10th weighing 6 lb. and 5 oz. Both Sarah and Eleyna are doing fine. She had the baby in our mission clinic in San Luis.
Daniel and I are going back down August 26th for 2 weeks. We had already purchased tickets with Sarah's original due date of August 30th in mind. Rusty and Lorna will come down a week later and then Sept. 9th we will all return home. We would appreciate your prayers for all of our travels.
I have not been able to get you the copies of the documentation that I used to make our family heritage album yet because of an extremely busy summer. In the midst of all of the above activities, we moved back onto the campus of Union Bible College. We have yet some to go to get completely moved and with school starting and the upcoming trip to Honduras, it will be a challenge to finish quickly. Anyway, I will get you the copies of the documents ASAP. If you would like to send me the $20 to cover this cost, I would appreciate it.
Have a great day!

Rusty is in the hospital. Last Tuesday they did a heart cath, found a 99% blockage in one of the main coronary arteries and put a stent in. He went home on Wednesday and Friday we had to take him back with chest pain again. They did another heart cath and found multiple 50-60% blockages throughout the heart. They are doing a medicinally induced stress test this morning to get a better picture of some of the blockages, hoping to find out what caused the pain. We would appreciate your prayers for him.

Thank you all for making the reunion such an incredible experience! Caspian loved being with you (as did we).
BACON TOMATO CUPS
8 slices bacon, crisply cooked
1 medium tomato
1/2 small onion
3 ounces shredded Swiss cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon basil
10 ounce can refrigerated flaky biscuits (with layers that separate)
Preheat oven 375° F. Chop bacon, tomato, and onion. Mix all ingredients except biscuits into 2 quart batter bowl. Separate each biscuit into 3 thinner biscuits. Spritz muffin pans (or mini muffin pans) with cooking spray (like Pam) and lay each biscuit over a cup and shape using miniature-tart shaper. Fill cups with bacon mixture. Bake 10-12 minutes until golden.
This is a Pampered Chef recipe. Literally every PC recipe I've ever made has been amazingly delicious. Here's a catchall website with all the recipes:

Grandma wanted me to let everyone know that she will be having a total knee replacement done on May 12th. Please keep her in your thoughs and prayers. She will be going for pre-op on May 8th. Homer and I plan on being there on the day of the surgery in order to talk with the Dr. and hear all of her do's and don'ts.

Mark,
In the video that you all did with Ron Falstreau in 1999, he mentioned that he has a son that lives in Texas. I don't remember any other reference about family members living in Texas other that what Charlie David mentioned.
I was talking to Ron this week about some questions in our family history and he told me that his son ran into one of the Falstreau family in Canada that are from our line and he said that our ancestor did not come from France but was a mercenary soldier from German who came to Montreal, Canada. The French comes in because several generations married French Canadians. This may explain the name change from Falstro to Falstreau. The French spell o as eau. When he gets home he is going to look up the information that he has and get in touch with me. He was traveling at the time that I talked to him. He does not have definite proof of this, but it sure sheds a whole new light to our roots. Interesting, isn't it!

Mark:
I draw a blank on the possibility of cousins in Texas. This is the first that I have heard of this. The only aspect in my memory that may relate our family history to Texas is that Harold James Falstreaux may have been court martialed in Texas.
If you think that there is a link in the Falstreau line, then it may be worth checking with Ron Falstreau as he has the most "complete" history.
If it is from the Jordan or Brown side, then the answer may lie somewhere in North Carolina.
If you find anything, let us know. Happy hunting,

Hey Y'all,
Has anyone compliled our family tree, esp. for Charlie Franklin (Jordan) Fiskeaux. Dad spoke of some cousins who moved to Texas, if my memory serves me right? If so, could you email this info to me @ markfisk@dnet.net
Thanks
